How to register as an Author?

To become an  author, please send an email to the adress stated at the Author Login page click the author login lenu on top) . As an author you are able to write articles, upload images and documents to the coalfire.org website.

How to write an article ?

You must have author-status as a minimum to write an article at coalfire.org. If you have author-status, click to the corresponing section in the left-hand menu to choose in which category to place your new article (e.g. Coalfires Worldwide) Click on the Submit Article button at the bootom of the page to create a new article in the section coalfires Worldwide.

A Html editor will pop up:

First, enter a title for your article (e.g. Helgoland Coalfire). The title will appear in the left-hand menu and also as athe headline of your article.
Second, choose the appropriate category for your article from the category pull-down menu. In this example you would choose Worldwide Coalfires.

Now you can start writing your article. Please use the default font family and size. To save your article click on the save button. It is recommended to click on the save-button from time to time to save your writing whilst editing. There is no auto-save like in MS-WORD.

When you finished your article, temporarily the one and only person that will see it on the coalfire.org website will be YOU! Every article has to be revised by the administration before it is published to the world.

How to upload images

Using the Html editor mentioned above, you can upload images to the coalfire.org website. Image format should be JPEG. Keep the images small (so please dont blow up this site by uploading images of megabyte in size).

To upload and insert  images click on the Insert/Edit Image button inside the Html editor or just click on the image - button :

A new window will pop up:

Chose the directory where to store your image. Here, we switch to the coalfires_worldwide directory:

1. Locate the image you want to upload on your computers hard disk

2. Upload the image

3. Select the image

4. You can now place the image in your article by pressing the insert button.

How to place images into my article?

Open the html editor as mentioned above. Place the cursor to the location inside of your article where the image should appear. Click on the Image button below the editor window. In the opening window choose your image and click the Insert button. You can scale your imageafterwards by clicking on the corners of the image and dragging the mouse.
