  • Geologists describing fire environment from micro grains to entire coalfields
  • Material scientists exploring ignition, burning, and propagation processes
  • Geochemists and -physicists surveying fire zones and analyzing fire products and impacts
  • Remote sensing specialists generating and scaling spatial information
  • Physicists and engineers building comprehensive models of coal fires and their development
  • Mining and fire fighting engineers drawing from their experience to enhance fire fighting and work safety
  • Economists and policy-makers applying scientific findings to corroborate their arguments and actions

ICCFR2 reaches out to all these parties. Its ultimate objective is to take international scientific cooperation on the subject to a new integrated and interdisciplinary level!
